The sound of the tin whistle was pretty clear, coupled with the resonance of the interior space, it sounded both mellifluous and spirited.

Gu Fei did not know why anyone would think that such an instrument was not as posh as a piano. Jiang Cheng stood there leaning against the table, holding this small, black, and delicate tube in his hand —it was unforgettably posh.

This room was the reception room of the former steel mill, and it came with a bathroom. Even though this place was abandoned, it still had an owner; there was always water, so back then, the first room that Li Yan snatched was this room.

This place appeared quite desolate, but it was actually pretty lively—save for the time when the weather around the mill was warm. It was not like nobody came around this area, it was just that those who wanted to find a place to idle around like them weren’t as quick to come.

After spending almost two hours at the local police station, the matter was finally dealt with.

The beaten boy did not admit that he had provoked Gu Miao and only said that she chased and struck him without reason at all. Gu Miao remained silent as she lay on Gu Fei’s shoulder with her eyes closed, which made it difficult for this accusation to be confirmed.

Gu Fei suddenly disappeared during politics class without even grabbing his bag. Their politics teacher was so infuriated that she rushed to the teacher’s office and started yelling at the top of her lungs at Lao Xu who, inadvertently, came to the classroom after school was over.

“Jiang Cheng.” He blocked Jiang Cheng, who was just about to leave with his bag.

Even though Jiang Cheng scored a really cool and difficult ball…

And let out such an imposing roar…

Shameless – Chapter 16A

Title: There is only a thousand years of hatred, not a hundred years of closeness

While Jiang Xiaoning was preparing for this extremely small birthday celebration, Han Jia was also preparing.

He had canceled all other plans. That day the gang was supposed to entertain some government officials’ friends in Jin Ting, but Han Jia called Xiao Li and asked for them to move elsewhere.

Title: A good person, hard to be; a white cloth, hard to wear

This street that was originally quite wide was even wider; the trees that lined either side had also disappeared with many new buildings having been added all around it, and High School No. 17’s once large and imposing old gate was now replaced with a new electric one.

Jiang Cheng didn’t know just what Gu Fei’s “favourite thing to eat” that he was taking him to was, and he didn’t ask either. He wasn’t even in the mood to eat at the moment. Anything he ate would probably taste the same anyway.

He only came to find Gu Fei because he didn’t want to be alone.

Gu Fei usually hated being bothered and did not like to meddle in troublesome matters. But growing up in this area, trouble was enacted on a daily basis. Every sort of dramatic script that usually played out in dramas could be seen here – and matters were only comparatively worse.

When he was bored, he would watch these scenes occur here as if watching a drama on TV, and for a very long time, his inspiration for writing songs for Ding Zhuxin came from these people who were hopelessly, yet desperately, fighting from this bottom level – and to which it goes completely unseen by others.
