When he first entered Jin Ting, Han Jia was often asked about the words on his back. The person who asked was different, and his explanation was different. There was a time when this word even became his selling point.

In fact, he didn’t mind others asking. When he entered Jin Ting, he always had to expose his body in front of others. Could such an obvious mark conceal the past? He had already been mentally prepared.

Jiang Cheng felt that he had quite the skill to be able to pick such an inexplicable outfit without much thought.

The outfit itself was pretty good-looking if you ignored the jacket: slim-fitted pants and a loose black T-shirt, and although it was also that of knitted material, at the very least it was the kind that wouldn’t lure the masses to gape at when worn outside.

But as soon as he put this jacket on, he froze and looked back at Gu Fei. “Hey, are you sure I didn’t get the wrong clothes?”

When Han Jia saw Zhang Xueming, his first thought was that he came to find Xiao Li.

He had made up his mind to come back, admittedly for emotional reasons that stemmed from the stubborn and persistent anxiety about Jiang Xiaoning, but not without weighing the pros and cons in a rational way. Gu Fei was riding his motorcycle toward Liu Fan’s house when his phone sounded. He plugged in an earbud and answered the call; Ding Zhuxin’s voice resonated from the other end. “Not bad, kid. You’re really not showing up?”

“No, I…” Gu Fei then remembered the message Ding Zhuxin had sent a while ago. “Forgot. How about I head over now, where are you?”

“What are you talking about?” Du Zhen asked in complete amazement. For him amiability begot riches,1 yet now his slightly plump face was sweating, and his eyes were open wide.

His partner, or colleague, or offline—or the person that was a combination of the three identities was not the slightest moved by his consternation as he expressionlessly repeated what he had just said:

Jiang Cheng and Gu Miao were walking at the very front while Gu Fei and Wang Xu were on their bikes, using their legs to push and follow behind them.

Wang Xu kept on talking on the side about his plans for the competition while Gu Fei wasn’t listening carefully; what Wang Xu wanted was only to speak anyways, having an audience wasn’t the most important.
